Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic experiences that occur in childhood and are remembered throughout adulthood. These experiences range from suffering verbal, mental, sexual and physical abuse, to being raised in a household where domestic violence, alcohol abuse, hostile parental separation or drug abuse is present. The ACE Hub has been established to help tackle ACEs. It will help create the environment for change and support individuals, communities and organisations to help create an ACE aware society.
The day would include a three-hour training session on ACE awareness provided by the ACE hub. This will be followed by a training session on the readiness tool which will help schools to reflect on their current provision and developing trauma informed environment in their school. In the afternoon the Resilience Film will be shown, if you have already seen this film delegates can then return to school.
Providing a knowledge and skills framework to target your learning. Giving you the information to be able to deliver the ACE training to your setting.
Please note we will be showing the Resilience DVD in the afternoon. Please could you let us know when booking whether you will be staying for the afternoon session?
